About Kirstie

Kirstie is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher after completing a comprehensive two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, followed by trauma-informed training with the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation

Kirstie is committed to sharing these practices in ways that are relatable and meaningful to everyday life, whilst offering safe/nourishing shared spaces.

Having experienced university and city life in her 20's, Kirstie returned to Dumfries & Galloway to train in nursing, start a family and work/volunteer, whilst enjoying the region's natural places.

Inquiring into various modes of inner exploration over the years (including Buddhism, western spirituality, self-help), Kirstie discovered the rich arena of Mindfulness and meditation, with its many approaches and styles. Taking the core messages to heart: accepting ourselves as we are, knowing reality, afresh, as best we can, and contributing to life with intention, care and connection.

For Your Safety & Comfort

Mindfulness and meditation services are not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment.

Our offerings are designed to teach participants the tools needed to develop and cultivate a mindfulness and self-compassion practice of their own. They are not a substitute for ongoing mental health care, personal therapy or medical treatment.

Personal safety, agency and emotional wellbeing are the foundation of these trainings and you are primarily responsible for your own safety and choice.

Teachers and facilitators are not expected or able to provide medical and/or professional psychological care. Mindfulness meditation may bring up challenging memories or feelings, which is very natural, yet can bring feelings of overwhelm and vulnerability that need presence and support, and that may include the involvement of relevant health or wellbeing professionals.

If you have experience with a serious mental health condition, cPTSD-related symptoms, or other concerns you think may impact your ability to participate in a class or course, please contact The Pebble Room or your healthcare professional to determine what is right for you at the moment. Your personal contact information may be used in the event the teacher/facilitator reasonably determines a need to call next of kin or emergency services on your behalf.
