"I engaged in a 6-week course with Kirstie, I found the teaching techniques, guided meditation and practices beneficial. As a Type 1 Diabetic, this enabled me to learn how to be in the moment and have a clear mind. I can highly recommend Kirstie; she has a gentle manner and makes it easy to learn and understand Mindfulness."

"I am aware of mindfulness, but found being guided and having that safe protected hour has enabled me to find the calm in the storm of life.
I felt I was able to meet myself, greet myself and accept myself. I recognised I had needs and that I was the person to meet those needs.
I guess that is part due to the clear and sensitive guiding and the way Kirstie was able to provide a safe and gentle place to just “be” fully present and accepted. No pressure or goals. No judgement. And also a few laughs along the way. I would recommend anyone curious to dip a toe into a practice that can be transforming."
Ways we teach and share
Our approach is down to earth and promotes mindfulness applicable in everyday life through various combinations of meditation, gentle movement, relaxation, visualisation and compassion practices. Trauma-informed for added security: honouring that we each carry our own experiences of suffering.
Comprehensive Classes/Events
Relaxed and friendly opportunities, catering to various levels of experience, fostering connection and growth. We also support teams in workplaces and corporate settings. Bespoke course design available upon discussion.
Community Engagement
Keen to collaborate with community groups, local practitioners, and events, we have a mission to help reach those who may otherwise struggle, for reasons of disability, financial barriers, Caring roles or social exclusion.
Safety and Accessibility
We prioritize safety and diversity: aiming to reduce barriers and promote access for all. Please get in touch for any accessibility needs and safe space requirements or to discuss adaptations and course design. Together we can create amazing things.
Non-Denominational
The Pebble Room is not restricted to any specific religious/faith denomination. Deeply informed by Buddhism, neuroscience, and psychology, yet grounded in our embodied/direct experience, and making room for the mystery of life.
About Kirstie
Kirstie is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher after completing a comprehensive two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, followed by trauma-informed training with the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation.
Kirstie is committed to sharing these practices in ways that are relatable and meaningful to everyday life, whilst offering safe/nourishing shared spaces.
Having experienced university and city life in her 20's, Kirstie returned to Dumfries & Galloway to train in nursing, start a family and work/volunteer, whilst enjoying the region's natural spaces.
Having inquired into various modes of inner exploration over the decades (including Buddhism, western spirituality, self-help), Kirstie dove into the rich arena of Mindfulness and meditation. Taking the core messages to heart: accepting ourselves as we are, knowing reality, afresh, as best we can, and relating to the ever-changing world of suffering and joy in more nurturing ways.
Discovering our basic goodness in the 'messiness' of life. Letting go of what is no longer needed. Far from being self-absorbing, this way of life is supportive to our relationships and communities.
